Refrigerator Repair Miami

Refrigerator Repair Miami (Preventative Maintenance Tips)

Refrigerators:

#1 Clean The Coils Underneath Or On The Back Wall: As I just mentioned it is essential to clean the coils underneath with a coil cleaning brush and a vacuum cleaner. You can get the

brush usually from a hardware store such as Lowes or Home Depot. 1st if you can cut the power to the refrigerator for safety. If you cannot cut the power to the unit it is not mandatory

because you will only be working up front usually where the fan in the back is not. Take the bottom cover off of your refrigerator down by your feet...Note: It usually pulls right off and pops back on.

I have seen a few times where the GE's might need a Phillips head screw driver for two screws to come off first. Now get yourself a flashlight and inspect the coils.

If you cannot see any black coils then they are dirty! Sometimes they are so dirty that you can't even tell they are there until they are cleaned. Grab your coil brush and the vacuum cleaner,

slide the brush in and out once out vacuum the brush and repeat.

Note: If you do not see the coils then they could be on the back wall then you would have to somehow pull the refrigerator forward and inspect but keep in mind the coils in the back

usually never need to be cleaned because they are air cooled and do not have a fan on them so all you would need to do is make sure you have proper 3 inch spacing behind the

refrigerator and not slammed against the wall. I've seen burn marks from hot coils on a customers wall paper!

#2 Change Water Filter: Every six months if you use it a lot with a whole family or once every twelve months if you are alone or just don't use it that much.

A clogged water filter could possibly cause things to back up and freeze. This is very rare and usually only happens when the water filter is in the Refrigerator section and the setting are set too cold.
